How do you get more natural than organic? Wildcrafted (you’ll see the term on labels) means that Mother Nature herself act as farmer: the plants were harvested from their natural habitat. Generally only a leaf or bloom is taken, leaving the plant and land unharmed. You might also see biodynamic, which is being called the next organic. Farmers feed soil a nourishing diet of herbs and flowers that they believe will yield a healthier, more potent crop and keep the soil in good shape. They also plant and harvest based on the lunar cycle. If that sounds a little out there, consider the rationale: If the moon moves tides, it’s reasonable that it could affect water and nutrient levels in plants, says Josephine Fairley, author of The Ultimate Natural Beauty Book (Universe).
